Doug Munton
Senior Pastor

Dr. Doug Munton has been the senior pastor of First Baptist Church O'Fallon since 1995. He has seen the church grow from 550 worshippers to more than 1,700 worshippers each week. Dr. Munton is a graduate of Wheaton College and received his Masters and PhD from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He recently published his second book, Warriors in Hiding. His first book is titled Seven Steps to Becoming a Healthy Christian Leader. He and his wife, Vickie, have four children.

Skip Leininger
Associate Pastor/Minister of Pastoral Care

Skip is a Metro-East native, graduate of O'Fallon Township High School,  Southwest Illinois College and Illinois State University. He graduated from Southwest Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas with a Master of Arts in Religious Education.

After seminary, he joined the FBC O'Fallon staff as Minister to Students in 1983. In 1992 he left O'Fallon to  pastor the Mehlville Baptist Church in Saint Louis for 13 years. In 2005 he rejoined the staff at FBC O'Fallon as the Associate Pastor.

He and his patient, long suffering and musically gifted wife, Joni, have been married for 30 year and are proud of their fantastic children, Abigail, Joshua (wife Melissa) and Sarah Beth.

His ministry verse is Colossians 1:28 "We proclaim Him, warning and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone mature in Christ."

Tom Dawson
Minister of Adult Education

Tom Dawson has been the Minister of Adult Education at First Baptist O'Fallon since January 2005. In addition to his ministry at First Baptist he also serves as a Reserve Chaplain in the United States Air Force and is currently at Scott Air Force Base, IL. Tom is passionate about adult small groups and views them as critical to the health and vitality of the local church. He enjoys boating and the outdoors. Tom and his wife, Marilyn, have two children, Katie and Jonathan.

Darlene Leatherwood
KidsLife Ministries Director

A North Carolina native, Darlene brings experience gained through travels with an Air Force husband, Alan. Darlene earned a BA in religious studies and a BS in psychology from McKendree University. She later received both a Master of Arts and doctorate in Christian Education from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City. Darlene and Alan have two children and enjoy spending time with family and friends. Darlene is passionate about seeing children grow spiritually and equipping children's leaders to be effective in ministry. Darlene believes sound curriculum, relevant activity based learning, fun experiences, and caring leaders are the touch points of effective children's ministry.
