John surrendered his life to Jesus Christ when he was 12 years old. At age 15, he felt God's call to vocational ministry, eventually being led specifically to student ministry. John married his high school sweetheart, Sarah, on May 29, 2004. On June 17, 2010, God blessed John and Sarah with their first child, a baby girl, Madilyn Faye. John was called to be our Minister to High School students in October 2010. Prior to his call to FBCO, John served through student ministry at his home church in Benton IL, and First Baptist Church of Blytheville, AR. John earned a bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies from Mid-Continent University in Mayfield Kentucky, a Master of Divinity and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri. John is a die-hard University of Illinois, St. Louis Cardinals, and St. Louis Rams fan. He loves hanging out with students, working out, playing video games, watching movies, and going out to eat.
