Prayer For the Thirst Conference
Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, come to this website for a devotion that will cover two days. Spend just a few minutes in prayer at the beginning of the day, or at lunch, or in the evening. Pray for God to prepare your heart, and the hearts of our Church people to fully experience Him during these four special nights. God will not disappoint the one who diligently seeks after Him.
Dear Church family,
Our Pastor is bringing in a ministry group for a special time of ministry called, “THIRST!”
Ask yourself these questions:
“With how I’m living my life right now… What Thirst drives me the most?”
“Is it my career, a relationship, education, status….?”
“What passionately drives my life?”
Now ask yourself these two questions:
“Where does God fit in with the above listed items?”
“Does He fit in it?”
If you realize that God needs to be a bigger part of your life, then this Thirst Conference could not be better timed for you! We’re all busy, and the thought of carving out four back to back nights (Sunday – Wednesday) might seem like an impossibility…but, Would you do it if you knew the impact would forever change your life, your perspective, your approach, and your outlook on life?
Would that make it worthwhile?
Let’s add some perspective to the thought of “Why” it’s so important to carve out this time.
The Apostle Paul wrote in I Cor. 3:12-15
2 Now if any man builds on the foundation with gold, silver, [d]precious stones, wood, hay, straw, 13 each man’s work will become evident; for the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test [e]the quality of each man’s work. 14 If any man’s work which he has built on it remains, he will receive a reward. 15 If any man’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.
All the things in life we currently are allowing to consume, or “overconsume” our time & abilities, will one day be subjected to some type of “fire that tests the quality of each man’s work.”
With your life’s current direction, how would your “life’s work” stand up? Would it remain, or would it be burned up?
If the answer is the latter… Aspire for more!
THIRST for More of God in your life, and that Will Happen for You; IF you will take the time and make this event a priority!
God has an amazing future for each of us to live…it’s called living out “His Will” for our lives. Do we “Thirst” to know Him and His will for our lives? Do we aspire to hear from Jesus’s lips, “Well done good, and faithful servant! Enter the joy of Your Master’s happiness!”
WHAT an entrance into God’s kingdom that will be! AND…it CAN be just like that for us, if we’re living for the Lord.
This conference is designed to stoke your fire to a whole new level of passion, as we come together and “Thirst” for more of Him in our lives. To that end, we invite you to begin your personal journey with prayer. Take advantage of the prayer devotionals that will be posted here at this spot. Take just a few minutes to “power up” your thirst for more of Him through prayer.
"But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him."
The Writer of Hebrews gives us this compelling verse about two key things: faith, and the diligence in which we need to seek the Lord.
With regard to faith, God wants us to fully believe that He exists. Our challenge is that we can’t see an invisible God…so how do we know He really exists, right? Well, do you believe in “wind?” You can’t see it, but… you see the effects of what wind does! Just like seeing tree branches move by the invisible wind that’s pushing against it, we can see the effects of God’s fingerprints throughout creation. Look at people, and reflect on those people whom you’ve seen come to know the Lord and the amazing difference He’s made in their lives.
Our Invisible God is visibly at work in the lives of people, and it’s right there to behold! So, for one part of your prayer time leading up to Thirst, spend time praising the Lord for changed lives!
With regard to the phrase “diligently seek Him”, my thoughts go to the story of the Prodigal Son; but in this case it’s not the son, but the Father I’m referring. When the son left in his rebellious manner, what did the Father do, he continuously scanned the horizon with the hope his son would return one day. He was “diligently seeking” for his son’s return. In similar fashion, what does God see from us? Does He see that we are diligently seeking Him in our lives, or is our approach casual, or worse, lethargic or apathetic?
How would you rate the diligence you’ve been seeking after God? Be honest…look in the mirror and courageously answer the question. It might be the best thing you could do if it causes you to realize God is not in the proper place He deserves to be.
As we head into this Thirst Event/Encounter with God, pray that God will create a diligence within you, a “Thirsting” that cannot be satisfied by anything or anyone But Him! If we each do this, we are headed toward an amazing encounter with The One who desires to see you succeed and thrive in life. Let’s seek Him Diligently this coming weekend!
God, strengthen my faith through this Thirst Event. I desire to please You, so I declare I fully believe You exist, that Jesus was born of a virgin, that He died on the Cross for my sins, and was raised from the dead. God, I want more of You in my life, so create within my heart a Thirsting for more of You that compels me to diligently seek You in all things. Thank you for showing me a greater understanding of Who You Are and Who I Can Become In You! I ask this in Jesus’s Name, AMEN!
